Agenda: Locate and learn about invasives that are thriving in City Park. This includes trees- camphor, tallow, raintree, chinaberry which now are preventing native trees from germinating. A vine, bushkiller, which has had an explosion of growth in recent months. And inspect water borne plants- water hyacinths, salvinia and water lettuce that at times completely cover the park’s waters. Finally, look for the most recent arrival- apple snails. Plans are to walk into two different sites where the invasives are the most invasive. The intent is to provide an overall look at the magnitude of the invasive problem and some possible eradication efforts. This walk will be lead by Byron Almquist and Anna Hernandez.

Bring: Wear weather appropriate shoes and clothes, and bring water bottles, clipboard, paper and a pen to take notes.
